Season 7 is set a short while after 'Redemption', beginning at 8AM, and sees Jack defending himself during a senate hearing in Washington, D.C. Jack exchanges himself for safe passage out of country for the kids at the school he's helping, but at the sacrifice of his friend Benton's life. At the same time, Jack has been subpoenaed by the US government to stand before a Senate hearing for acts of torture he committed during his days with CTU. He is now building schools in Africa with his friend Carl Benton as a military coup erupts, led by the malicious General Juma, who uses child soldiers. Jack has left the United States after his encounter with James Heller and a catatonic Audrey Raines left him with nothing. 'Redemption' takes place nearly 4 years after the events of season 6, and is set in Sangala, a fictional African country, between the hours of 3 and 5PM.
